R.U.F.F. – Read to a Dog!

first patron for RUFF

Children who are age 5 or older are welcome to participate in a unique literacy program with a therapy dog certified by The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. Reading to a therapy dog in a stress free environment has been found to help children gain reading fluency, comprehension and most of all, confidence!

R.U.F.F. (Reading Uniquely for Fundamentals) is held on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Each session is 15 minutes and you may only sign your child up for one session per day. Reading material should be something your child has read before, and can be either brought from home, or chosen at the library.

Registration is required to participate. To register, please contact the Children’s Services desk @ 973-728-2823 or email Miss Theresa at mcarthur@wmtl.org.

The next sessions will be held as follows:

4/10 – Lynn and Brodie

4/24 – Donna and Murphy

5/8 – Jim and Mongo

5/22 – Cathie and Emma

6/5 – Cathie and Coalby

6/19 – Dory and Rayne
