Got PEEPS® and don’t know what to do with the extras? Then enter our first WMTL PEEPS® Diorama Contest for teens and adults! Create a shoebox diorama based on your favorite book or literary theme. Maybe YOU could be the first winner of the “PEEPLE’s Choice” Award, the WMTL Staff Favorite Award, or the Most Creative Use of PEEPS® Award! Stop by the first floor display table to pick up an entry form or print it out at home (2024 PEEPS Diorama Contest – Entry Form). Then come back with your creation and the entry form to be an eligible participant!

Important Dates:

April 1st – 14th: Submit Dioramas & Entry Forms (must include entry form to participate)

April 15th – 29th: Vote for your favorite at WMTL

April 30th: Winners will be announced on social media & contacted by WMTL staff to pick up their award

May 1st – 4th: Dioramas must be picked up by these dates or they will be discarded.

Full Contest Rules & Guidelines:

1. One entry per person or group.
2. All parts of the diorama should fit within the space of a standard sized shoebox or a box between the dimensions of 12″ x 18″ x 12″. The diorama itself must be portable and in one piece upon entering the library – no assembly required.
3. All visible parts of the diorama should be fully decorated included but not limited to the top, sides, & back.
4. The diorama must be based on a book or literary theme (or a movie based on a book). It must be family friendly. All entries must be in good taste, the West Milford Township Library reserves the right to omit any entries it feels are not appropriate for public viewing.
5. Each diorama must contain at least one PEEP® of any color, type, or shape. Moreover, the PEEP® marshmallows should be the only food decoration a part of the diorama.

All eligible dioramas must be brought in with their printed entry forms during normal library business hours to the reference desk/adult services on the first floor of the library. The last day for submission is by April 14th, 2024. No late submissions will be eligible in the contest.

By entering the diorama contest, you are giving the West Milford Township Library permission to display your diorama in the library, take pictures of your creation and share them online.

Judging at WMTL:

All of the eligible dioramas will be displayed and voted on in-person between April 15th – 29th on the first floor of the library. Patrons are allowed to vote once per day and can vote multiple times throughout the two weeks.

The winners will be announced & contacted on April 30th, 2024. The WMTL staff will contact who the winners are by phone and email. The images of the winning diorama(s) will shared via social media and at the display table on the first floor of the library. All prizes will be given out to the winners in-person at WMTL.

Picking Up Your Creations: 

All dioramas must be picked up by May 4th, 2024 (the latest). If there are any entries left behind at the library past this date, they will be disposed of.
