Summer Reading for Tweens
Now that summer is in full swing, have you started your summer reading yet? Here at WMTL we have the K-6 summer reading lists provided by the schools, but don't forget that these are suggested titles. There are so many great books here at the library just waiting to be taken out and read. Here are a few fun suggestions that are not on the lists:
There are plenty of fun & games in this title~Kyle Keeley is part of a group of kids that is selected to spend the night in the brand new library. Little do they know that they will have to solve puzzles and use their wits to unlock the door!
This is the first book in a series by Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor. This New York Times bestseller is about a family vacation that goes horribly wrong. Will the shipwrecked kids survive? Read this survival story to find out!
This third book in a series by Jean Ferris has it all~fairy-tale characters, corny jokes & a kidnapping. Is there a chance for a happy ever after?
Imagine being a princess and finding your prince! There's just one catch~he's a frog and in order to break the witch's spell you must kiss him. Easy, right? Well what if you kiss him and then YOU turn into a frog? Vivian Vande Velde's twist on this classic fairy tale is funny & full of adventure.
Hiccup is back in this 10th book in Cressida Cowell's series about dragons and vikings. He is 14 years old and the Vikings are in the midst of the dragon rebellion. Will Hiccup be able to help? Or will he remain an outcast? How to Seize a Dragon's Jewel is another great installment in this popular series.
