Circle of Voices, North: Poetry Circle

on Tue, 09/03/2013 - 3:06pm

This autumn, Circle of Voices, North explores the poetry of a married couple, Donald Hall and Jane Kenyon. Kenyon's poems are spiritual, uncomplicated and pure to the senses. She and Donald Hall lived on "Eagle Pond" amidst rich images of barns and the light of hay bales, winter fields, apple trees and the changing seasonal landscapes. Donald Hall was profoundly affected by the death of his wife who was 20 years his junior. Hall writes about the simpler New Hampshire life and was the Poet Laureate of the United States in 2006.

Join Laurie Byro for a lively poetry discussion on Monday, November 4 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. To register, please call 973-728-2824 or email maynard@wmtl.org. Copies of the poems will be available at the Adult/Teen Services desk to those who are registered.
