Summer Reading Kick-off!

Monday, June 27 – All ages; families welcome! 4:30 p.m. Drop-in event; registration not required!

Kick-off the 2016 Summer Reading Club – On Your Mark, Get Set…READ! with us under the tent with Housel Fun & Fitness! All ages are welcome to attend.

Eyes of the Wild : Survival of the Fittest

Wednesday, June 29 – Age 2 and up; families welcome! 3:00—4:00 p.m. Registration required.

Animals may not be the first thing we think of when discussing health and fitness, but they happen to be some of the nature’s most physically fit specimens! Join Eyes of the Wild to learn about some of the healthy and althletic atttributes of our furry, scaly, feathered friends. Don’t miss your chance to match your health and fitness against some of nature’s most athletic creatures! Limited to 75; under the tent. *In the event of the stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

Friday, July 1 – Make a patriotic magnet! All ages. 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. In the Children’s Room. Drop-in; no registration required.

Beach Party!

Tuesday, July 5 – Babies – Age 4. 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. Registration required.

Little beach goers are invited to share some sun and fun with us during a beach party storytime! Registration required. Limited to 40; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

Electronics with Dan the Science Man!

Thursday, July 7 – Ages 7-13; 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Registration required.

Enter into the world of electronics the hands-on way with hair- rising demonstrations. Students will work with batteries, bulbs, buzzers, and a wide variety of electronic components. Students will use Mr. Circuit and the Snap Circuits building system to put together electronic circuits. Build a working electric motor, electro-plate real coins, electro-magnet, alarm, space gun, and more. Registration required. Limited to 20 per session; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in the Children’s Room.

Tortoise and the Hare’s Race to Health

Monday, July 11 – Ages 2 and up; families welcome! 11:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. Registration required.

In this interactive puppet show, Mr. I., The Library Guy helps his friend Terrence the Tortoise prepare for a race with Henry the Hare. Based on Aesop’s famous fable, “The Tortoise and the Hare,” the show features a cast of colorful, fun puppet friends who will help us all prepare for a race EVERYONE can win—becoming our HEALTHIEST SELF! Registration required. Limited to 75; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

Art Kids Academy: Sports Portraits

Thursday, July 14 – Ages 7-12. 11:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. Registration required.

Sports and hobbies are great ways for kids to express themselves. In this workshop kids will learn about new hobbies and personalize a self-portrait design. Registration required. Limited to 20; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in the Children’s Room.

The Juggling Hoffmans

Friday, July 15 – All ages; families welcome! 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Registration required!

Get ready for an amazing juggling show filled with attention grabbing tricks, silly stunts and slapstick comedy! Audience participation and volunteers help power this musical, magical show! Registration required. Limited to 75; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

Hula for Everyone

Monday, July 18 – All ages; families welcome! 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Registration required!

Aloha! Get on your feet this summer and learn to Hula with professional Hula dancer, Nalani! Hula is a Polynesian dance of Hawaii that everyone can do! So put on your Hawaiian shirts, come learn to hula, or just relax and watch the show! Registration required. Limited to 75; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

Karate for Kicks!

Monday, July 25 – Ages 5 and up. 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. Registration required!

Join Christopher Miller of Traditional Okinawan Karate in Butler, for a session of Isshin Ryu Karate. Registration required. Limited to 20; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held in Town Hall.

YOGA Kids!

Tuesday, July 26 – Ages 6-12. 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. Registration required!

Stretch out for sports with yoga instructor Jenn as she teaches kids how to balance an active life with stretching and relaxation. Limited to 20; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, please check the Library’s homepage for program information including location or schedule changes.

Rizzo’s Reptiles: The Rainforest

Thursday, July 28 – Ages 3 and up; families welcome! 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Registration required!

This year’s Summer Olympics takes place in Brazil, a country that is almost 60% covered in rainforest! What better way to learn about the rainforest ecosystem than with a special event from Rizzo’s Reptiles and some of the amazing animals that love in this unique habitat! Registration required. Limited to 75; under the tent. *In the event of stormy weather, this program will be held on Friday, July 29 @ 4:30.
