SAT Registration Deadlines Are Coming Up...

If you're planning to take the SAT this spring, the deadlines are coming up quickly. For information about the tests and to register, visit the official website http://sat.collegeboard.org/. The site explains what the tests are about, helps you create a study plan, and offers some practice tests. They also offer practice tests and guides for sale.

This  nonprofit CK-12 Foundation offers 60 lessons and more than 800 practice questions. They also have a score projector which predicts how you will score on the real SAT!

Testing and Education Reference Center
Free with your library card - Click the Services link in the menu bar at the top of this page, select "Full Database List", then scroll down to select "Testing & Education Reference Center". You will be prompted to enter your 14-digit library card number. You'll find great SAT study resources under "College Prep Tools".

Chapters, a book discussion group for adults, had its first meeting in the fall of 1995. Many years and many titles later, the WMTL Chapters group is still reading, meeting, and talking!

Join Chapters for a morning or an evening discussion. Copies of the selected title are available for checkout each month. Along with a copy of the book, Chapters members receive a summary of the story, a brief background of the author, and an invitation to record a favorite quote for sharing at the following month's meeting.

Summer vacation has begun for the southern California Torres-Thompson family; however, finances have forced parents Maureen and Scott to make difficult lifestyle changes. Consequences quickly unfold for the Torres-Thompson children, as well as for their live-in housekeeper Araceli Ramirez in Héctor Tobar's contemporary novel.

On Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings, WMTL provides a series of free introductory computer classes for adults. Registration is limited to five WMTL cardholders per session. Our January classes are:

Computer Basics, Part 1: January 8, 7:00-8:00 p.m. or January 10, 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Computer Basics, Part 2: January 15, 7:00-8:00 p.m. or January 17, 10:00-11:00 a.m

Intro to the Web: January 29, 6:30-8:00 p.m. or January 31, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
